Linda Bandry

Singer/songwriter LINDA BANDRY grew up in her native Maturín, Venezuela that was heavily populated by American families that worked in the Oil and Gas Industry. Along with their culture they brought their music, “country music”. This music made a strong impression on a very young LINDA, so much so that she set out to become one of the first Latin artist, perhaps the only Venezuelan artist to successfully interpret the genre in Spanish with original songs. Linda Bandry started writing and singing when she was a mere 8 years old and She is debuting her first CD release on 2004 entitled “COMO LUNA”, distributed by Universal Music Latino. The CD contains 11 tracks, among them: EL ESTA EN TUS MANOS (He is in your hands), DE CAMINO A CASA (On my way back home), SOLO ELLA ES ELLA (She is the only one), FLORA Y SU CAMION (Flora and her truck), SAL DE MI VIDA (Get out of my life), CORTAME (Take my life) AND the tittle song COMO LUNA (Like a moon). Linda, Najib Seguías and Ed Gonzalez (Producer of "Como Luna") were adamant that only Country Music session musicians were used on the CD to make sure the music was real and authentic, among them were David Scully and Ed Gonzalez (Guitars), John Lengel (Drums) and Bee Gees Guitarist, Alan Kendall on Steel Guitar. As is typical of Country Music, most of the songs deal with heartbreak, family, work and life in the country and are mostly written in third person and stay true to the genre’s musicality. Her Father Elias Bandry had a huge influence on her musical career. Like Linda, he loved Country Music but didn’t understand English, He suggested to her that She should write and sing Country Music in Spanish. Her goal is to unite the two cultures by paying tribute to the American country music that She loves so much while keeping her heritage. Her friends used to call her “LUNA”, probably because of her dark hair and eyes.

Linda promotes along with her "Latin Country Music" the typical dance (Line dancing), typical clothes (Boots, hats and jeans), and the typical sport (Bull riding and rodeo) altogether. Linda Bandry is the Hispanic Representative for Country Music in the United States. She has made for fans in Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and other countries to open their hearts and souls to this Genre. Her image has been broadcasted through the Hispanic and American Television, such as: Univision, Telefutura, Telemundo, Channel 41, Channel 4, Telemiami among others. She was acknowledged by NARAS for the 46th Annual Grammy Awards on 2004 (as one of the 50 Best Country Female Vocalists) and her Album “COMO LUNA” (as one of the Best Country Albums of the year); She was also nominated for “REVELACION DEL AÑO” (Best New Artist of the year) for the famous Spanish Music Awards Show “El Premio Lo Nuestro 2004”. She was placed in the POP category because as of yet, there is no country music category.

Now Linda goes from show to show exciting good times and hoedowns everywhere she goes. American audiences have not only been mesmerized by her lyrics but by the magic she emits when she shakes her hips.
