"Selling to Seniors" is a news service (or newsletter) published in
Silver Spring, MD by CD Publications.

Also known as "The 50+ Marketing Report," "Selling to Seniors" reports on advertising to American seniors. It also includes trend analysis and market news.

History

CD Publications began producing housing-related newsletters in 1961, starting with "Housing Affairs Letter". The company branched out into senior affairs with "Aging News Alert" in 1984. "Selling to Seniors" was begun in 1987, with Jean Van Ryzin as editor. She left the position in 1990 to freelance but returned in the winter of 2001.

In late 1999, CD Pubs bought "The Maturing Marketplace" from Silver Spring-based Business Publishers, Inc., and folded it into "STS", which at the time was edited by Allison Patterson.

Current Coverage

"STS" covers the marketing of products and services through the Internet, direct mail, print media, radio and TV. It features case studies and reports on demographic trends, plus professional advertising critiques.

Expansion

In 2007, "STS" was changed to a web-based format and, along with CD Publications' other aging news services, was moved onto the web portal SeniorsNews.net.
