Job Corps is a no cost education and Job Training program that helps young people ages 16 and up to their 25th birthday get a better job, make more money, and take control of their lives.

At Job Corps, students enroll to learn a trade,and earn a trade certification upon completion of the program. If the student is in need of a driver's license, high school diploma or GED, these programs are offered as well. When students join the program, they are paid a monthly allowance. Job Corps also provides career counseling and transition support to its graduates for up to 12 months after they graduate.

The Pine Ridge Job Corps Center is located at 15710 Highway 385, Chadron, NE, 69337. Pine Ridge offers 10 trade options which include Bricklaying, Business Technologies, Carpentry, Cement Mason, Construction Craft Laborers, Facilities Maintenance, CNA/CMA, Material Handling, Painting and Welding. The center has a population of 168 males and 60 females. Pine Ridge has four dorms where students live, study, and make life long friendships. The new female dorm offers private baths for each room. There is an activity center which includes a snack bar, movie room, pool tables, video games, and provides lots of things to do after class. The gymnasium houses a full size basketball court, weight room and exercise room. There is also arts and crafts, painting, drawing and other fine arts.

The Pine Ridge Job Corps also offers two Independent Living Honor Houses to reward those high performing students for their hard work. Students must earn a gold or platinum card level to be eligible for the honor houses.

Students earn card levels while enrolled in the program. Privileges and trips are earned with this card system. New comers start at Aluminum, level one is iron, level two is Bronze, level three is silver (you must reach silver to be eligible for graduation), level four is Gold (this is the level where you can earn a later curfew, level five is platinum, and when you reach independent living status.
