genus of seasnail s, orthogastropodgastropod mollusk s. This genus is currently placed in the the subfamilyEotomariinae , of the familyEotomariidae . It resemblesBalbinipleura shell character. Bembexia was named by Oehlert and Oehlert (1888). It has been interpreted as herbivorous, probably grazing on algae. Their fossils are found in sedimentary rocks deposited from 340 to Ma|420, including theHamilton Group of eastern North America. Other fossil sites includeAlaska , Western Europe including the U.K.,Venezuela , China and Australia.pecies within the genus "Bembexia"
