Howard James Hubbard (born October 31, 1938 in Troy, New York) is the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany, which comprises fourteen counties in eastern and east central New York State. Over a decade after his ordination as a priest in 1963 at the Vatican, Hubbard was appointed Bishop of Albany by Pope Paul VI and received his episcopal consecration on March 27, 1977 from his predecessor, Edwin B. Broderick, Terrence Cardinal Cooke, Archbishop of New York, and auxiliary bishop Edward J. Maginn.
