Ernest Sloman

The Very Reverend Ernest Sloman was the Dean of St George's Cathedral, Georgetown, Guyana [ [http://www.stgeorges.org.gy/St%20Georges%20Cathedral%20Book.pdf Details of Deans past and present] ] from 1910 until his death in 1918 ["Death of the Dean of Georgetown" The Times, Monday, Jul 15, 1918; pg. 3; Issue 41842; col D] .
Educated at St Edmund Hall, Oxford and ordained in 1878, after a Curacy at South Hackney he emigrated to Guyana where he was successively Curate at Christ Church Georgetown, Principal of the "Belair Training Institute", Rural Dean of Berbice and a Cathedral Canon before his appointment to the Diocese's Deanery.
