Sue Heap

Sue Heap is an author and illustrator from the United Kingdom.

Early life

Heap was born in 1954 in Hampshire, England. She moved a lot as a child, living in such places as Singapore and Egypt. As a child she would write and draw as she had such a rootless lifestyle. Later in life she earned an art college degree.

She is best known for her illustrations of people with large gaps between their eyes and usually no neck.

Works

Heap is well known for her work for Jacqueline Wilson. She co-illustrated the book "Double Act" with Nick Sharratt and illustrated the book How to Survive Summer Camp, also written by Wilson.

Awards

Sue Heap is the 1998 winner of the Smarties Prize Gold Award.

In addition, her newest book has been nominated for the Greenaway Medal.
