Tim Velten (born September 1, 1983 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American soccer defender who currently plays for the Charleston Battery of the USL First Division.

Youth

Velten attended Webster Groves High School where he was a second team All State soccer player as a senior. In 2002, he entered Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, playing his freshman and sophomore seasons with the Cougars. In 2004, he transferred to the University of Louisville, finishing his collegiate career with the Cardinals in 2005.

Professional

In 2007, he joined the Harrisburg City Islanders in the USL Second Division. Velten and his team mates won the USL-2 championship. On July 16, 2007, the Baltimore Blast of Major Indoor Soccer League selected Velten in the 8th round of the MISL Supplemental Draft but he did not sign with the team.
