Feminist criticism

Feminist criticism is a type of literary criticism that is a classification of sociological criticism. There are two main classifications of feminist criticism: feminist critique and gynocriticism.

Feminist Critique

Feminist Critique is a type of feminist criticism in which one analyzes the portrayal of women in literature. Specifically, its purpose is to expose patriarchial patterns literature.

Gynocriticism

Scholars who practice gynocriticism examine literature written by women in order to discover how women viewed themselves and the role that gender plays in society.
