The 1992 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships was the 16th edition of the
World Junior Ice Hockey Championships and was held from December 26, 1991 until January 4, 1992. It was held inFussen ,Germany . TheCommonwealth of Independent States won gold, whileSweden won silver, and theUnited States took home the bronze medal.Final standings
The 1991 tournament was a
round-robin format, with the top three teams winning gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.On New Year's Day, 1992, the
Soviet Union was formally dissolved, and the team that had begun the tournament under that name completed it as theCommonwealth of Independent States . The team had no new flag to fly at the tournament, and continued to use their CCCP jerseys through to its conclusion.
