Jalisco 225 (JAL 225) runs for a stretch of 10km/11km. It starts, westbond, in the Western part of the town of Yahualica and, eastbound, in the Northeast part of Huiquilco just before Campo Deportivo Atenas, on top of an Arroyo (creek). Most of the route is straight except for a few curves on the hills. It has two intersections. One of them is with Jalisco 238 (JAL 238) at km 8.5 and the other one being an auxialry route Jalisco 225 (JAL 225). Both routes being North-South routes.
Auxiliary routes
Jalisco 225 only has one auxiliary route. It also carries the same number creating some confusion. The difference is that the Aux route runs North-South between JAL 225 at km 5.2 and El Durazno, Jalisco.
Speed limit
The speed limit varies from 60km/h and 30km/h. 60km/h is marked throughout most of the highway in the rural areas. Once entering the urban areas there are speed bumps to reduce the speed limit down to 30km/h.
Deaths
There has been about 3 deaths on Jalisco 225. The most recent occurred on Wednesday August 20th, 2008 at about 2 AM local time(UTC-6). It occurred at around km 6 on a sharp S-curve. The driver and passenger were believed to both be drunk. The driver missed the curve and went straight ahead to the rocks which caused him to roll over onto the highway. The passenger died instantly due to a cut on his neck by an unknown object. The driver walked away with a few injuries. In 2006 near km 2 another man from the municipality also flipped on a slight curve while trying to pass the bus that goes El Baluarte-Huisquilco-Yahualica. He also died instantly
