Jodi Unruh

Jodi Unruh is a veteran news anchor and award-winning journalist who retired from the 11:00 Weekday anchor seat at KVAL-TV [http://www.kval.com/news/12498731.html] in December of 2007 to spend more time with her family. She has continued to enjoy her love of broadcasting by working as a voice talent locally and nationally.

Unruh has more than two decades of experience in the world of media/entertainment news. After graduating from University of Oregon in Journalism and completing graduate studies at UCLA, Unruh worked in entertainment news in Los Angeles, CA for several years where she hosted several nationally syndicated shows for networks like ESPN. Unruh then moved back to Oregon, where she worked as an anchor/reporter in Bend for several months before heading back to her hometown, Eugene, to work for KVAL-TV.

During her eleven years at KVAL-TV, Unruh received numerous honors that included First Place awards for her reporting in the breaking news catergory [http://www.spjwash.org/contests/downloads/awardsspj2000.pdf] from the Associated Press and The Society of Professional Journalists. As a board member and honorary chair of several local non-profit groups, Unruh has also been honored for her community service from organizations that included Committed Partners for Youth and The Oregon Humane’s Society.

As a former Miss Oregon USA, Miss Teen Oregon, Oregon's Homecoming Princess and America's Homecoming princess, Unruh has also enjoyed judging many pageants over the years and working as a pageant coach.
