Inotera

"Inotera Memories, Inc." (Traditional Chinese: 華亞科技, Hanyu Pinyin: huā yà kē jì)is a 50:50 joint venture of Qimonda (Germany) and Nanya Technology (Taiwan). The company was incorporated on January 2003 and focuses on the production of DRAM wafers.

Inotera opened by mid-2004 a 300mm semiconductor production facility located in Hwa-Ya Technology Park in Gueishan, Taoyuan County, Taiwan. Inotera’s production facility has been designed to manufacture high-density and high-performance commodity DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) products using state of the art trench technology. Inotera's Fab-2 has completed its equipment and tool move-in, and Fab-1 and Fab-2 have achieved a combined full capacity of 120 thousands wafer starts per month in September, 2007.

In order to further improve productivity and lower manufacturing cost, Inotera's technology conversion into 80 nanometer process technology developed by Qimonda and 70/75 nanometer process technology co-developed by Nanya Tech and Qimonda have been implemented. The Company has achieved Shipment Qualification for the 80nm technology in September 2007 and has started the volume ramp from the beginning of October. The 70/75nm technology, both for 512Mb and 1Gb products, has also achieved Shipment Qualification in October and December respectively and has started the volume ramp in the fourth quarter of 2007.

Inotera’s main production is currently the 512Mb DDR2, 1Gb DDR2 and 1Gb DDR3 products featuring high density, high speed, and low power consumption.
