Oliver Edmund Clubb Born February 16, 1901 Died May 9, 1989 (aged 88)Oliver Edmund Clubb (16 February 1901 - 9 May 1989) was one of the China Hands of the United States State Department who was attacked by McCarthyism in the 1950s and blamed for "losing China" to the Communists.[1] After being forced out of the State Department, Clubb pursued a vigorous career in scholarly writing.
