Jose Luis Astiazaran

Jose Luis Astiazaran Iriondo is a Spanish lawyer, former president of Real Sociedad and president of "La Liga Profesional". He was born in San Sebastián, Pais Vasco.

He became president of Real Sociedad on 22 March 2001 and left the position in 2005, leaving the club in poor standing and with €10 million worth of debt. He was appointed president of the "La Liga Profesional", the body governing both La Liga and the Segunda División in July 2005. He won the election unanimously with the exception of the support of the three Basque clubs: Real Sociedad, SD Eibar and CA Osasuna.
