Career
Patten made her first film appearance in
Joel Chandler Harris 's "Song of the South " withBobby Driscoll , and they both appeared in "Song of the South"'s sister film "So Dear to My Heart ". She appeared again withBobby Driscoll in the "Pecos Bill " segment of Disney's "Melody Time ", and she played the role of Priscilla Lapham in Disney's 1957 production of "Johnny Tremain". In 1960 she played the role of Libby Halstead inVincente Minnelli 's melodrama "Home from the Hill". She also appeared in "Fun and Fancy Free ".She retired from the film industry in the 1960s.
Death
She died from a
respiratory failure in her home atLong Beach, California at the age of 57.Luana Patten is interred in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Long Beach, California.
