Shah Alam Circuit

Shah Alam Circuit or Batu Tiga Speedway Circuit was a former racing circuit in Malaysia. This circuit is located in the capital of Selangor in Shah Alam, between the Shah Alam Stadium and Lebuhraya Persekutuan.

It was opened in 1968 with first Grand Prix, the Tasman Series won by Indonesian Hengkie Iriawan on eleven-in Ford. Shah Alam Circuit remained venue of Malaysian Grand Prix in Malaysia from 1968 until 1982, whereby the starter field consisted this Grand Prix alternately of vehicles of the Formula Atlantic, Formula Pacific or the Formula 2. The last Malaysian Grand Prix race held in Shah Alam is the Formula Holden in 1995.

The circuit was closed in 1977 after an accident killed six children, although it later reopened after improvements of fences and guard rails around the trackwere carried out. [http://www.silhouet.com/motorsport/tracks/shahalam.html]

1985, the track were renewed from 3.38 km increase to 3.693 km and additionally the curve 11 was established. [http://www.gdecarli.it/php/circuit.php?var1=646&var2=2] In the same year, the first international racing is the sports car world championship won by Jacky Ickx on Porsche 962C.

1990 and 1991 it held the Superbike World Championship. In 1991 to 1997 it held theMalaysian motorcycle Grand Prix. With altogether four victories until 1997 Mick Doohan of most successful drivers of the 500-cm was ³ - class. Afterwards the motorcycle Grand Prix changed later to Johor Circuit and to Sepang International Circuit.

In the year 2003 the circuit was sold by Selangor state government to a property developer, it then torn off and been develop with a housing project name D'Kayangan.
