Eoin Rheinisch

Eoin Rheinisch (born 21 February 1980 [ [http://results.beijing2008.cn/WRM/ENG/BIO/Athlete/5/218685.shtml Profile] ] ) is an Irish canoeist from Leixlip, County Kildare.

Olympics

Rheinisch competed at the 2004 Olympic canoeing K-1 slalom final where he finished 21st of 25 overall, exiting after the Preliminary Round.

He came 4th in the 2008 Olympics canoeing K-1 slalom final. His performance in the Olympic Final was the best ever achievement by an Irish competitor in this event. Previously Ian Wiley was 5th in the same event at the Atlanta Olympics.

Family

Rheinisch's aunt is from Letterkenny, County Donegal. Irish marathon champion Gary Crossan is his cousin.
