July 9 1869 -February 2 1940 ) was aLithuania n-born American composer and conductor who came to the United States in 1898. He composed mainlychamber music , including astring quartet , as well as amazurka forviolin andorchestra . He founded both theLewisohn Stadium Concerts inNew York City and the symphony orchestra at theUniversity of Miami . He was related to the composerStefan Wolpe .Reference
