Imielin [IPA-pl|i|'|m|j|e|l|i|n] is a city in southern Poland, located between Katowice and Kraków.

It is a quite small city with about 8000 inhabitants. The most remarkable in this city is Our Lady of Scapular Church and a small chapel where Napoleon prayed on his way to Russia during his invasion of Russia.

Massacre during Second World War

During the German Invasion of Poland in 1939, German soldiers mass murdered 28 Poles on the night of 4 and 5 September. The victims included refugees, 3 women and one 5-year old child. [Szymon Datner "55 dni Wehrmachtu w Polsce" page 187] .
