undergraduate andgraduate levels.UNDERGRADUTE MEMBERSHIP
Potential members may be admitted for membership in an undergraduate chapter only while in attendance at a four-year accredited college or university, or at a junior or community college. Potential graduate members must hold a degree from a four-year accredited educational institution.
The Process
The pledge period is the time that a
pledge or potential new member of the fraternity engages in before being initiated as a member. This period is the time the pledge learns of the organization's history, principles and tenacity of brotherhood.Hazing
Hazing is now against the law in many U.S. states and the fraternity's official policy is that hazing is against the purposes and goals of the Fraternity. There is a zero tolerance against any kind of hazing. Individuals involved in hazing face severe disciplinary action by the fraternity and authorities.
Colony
A colony is a probationary body of the fraternity. If a member wants to become a member of the fraternity at a school that does not host the fraternity it may petition Nationals for status as a colony. If the colony prospers, the colony may later be charted, thereby becoming a full chapter of the fraternity.
