The late Right Reverend Sydney Cyril Bulley [ [http://www.npg.org.uk/live/search/a-z/sitB.asp NPG details] ] was born on 12 June 1907 and educated at the University of Durham [“Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] . He began his ministry as a curate at Newark [ [http://www.coddington.org.uk/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=41 Details of Bulley’s time here] ] and was then successively Vicar of Worksop, Rural Dean of Mansfield, "Director of Religious Education" within the Diocese of Carlisle and Archdeacon of Westmoreland before his elevation to the Episcopate, initially as Suffragan to the Bishop of Carlisle (who he in turn succeeded).
