The late Right Reverend Sydney Cyril Bulley [ [http://www.npg.org.uk/live/search/a-z/sitB.asp NPG details] ] was born on
12 June 1907 and educated at theUniversity of Durham [“Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] . He began his ministry as a curate atNewark [ [http://www.coddington.org.uk/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=41 Details of Bulley’s time here] ] and was then successivelyVicar ofWorksop ,Rural Dean ofMansfield , "Director of Religious Education" within theDiocese of Carlisle andArchdeacon ofWestmoreland before his elevation to theEpiscopate , initially as Suffragan to theBishop of Carlisle (who he in turn succeeded).
