George Lanyon Hacker

George Lanyon Hacker was the sixth Suffragan Bishop of Penrith in the modern era [ Who’s Who 1992 (London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 0713635142] . Born on 27 April 1928 and educated at Kelly College, Tavistock ["Kelly College –Bishop of Penrith to preach at Founders Service" The Times Monday, Apr 19, 1982; pg. 10; Issue 61211; col C] and Exeter College, Oxford, he was ordained after a period of study at Ripon College Cuddesdon in 1955 [Debrett's People of Today: Ed Ellis,P (1992, London, Debrett's) p 846 ISBN 1870520092)] .
