Phalanx Biotech Group was established in 2002 by several members of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) of Taiwan. Description of Products and Services

Phalanx Biotech Group currently manufactures two gene expression profiling DNA microarrays, Human OneArray and Mouse OneArray. Human OneArray contains 30,968 UniGene and RefSeq based 60-mer DNA probes and 1,082 experimental control probes. Mouse OneArray contains contains 29,922 Mouse Exonic Evidence Based Oligonucleotide (MEEBO) [ [http://www.microarray.org/sfgf/meebo.do MEEBO Arrays] ] based 70-mer probes and 1,880 experimental control probes.

Phalanx Biotech Group provides gene expression profiling service, performed using a patent pending microarray hybridization assembly.

Manufacturing

The DNA microarrays are produced using a patented non-contact inkjet deposition [United States Patent: Inkjet dispensing apparatus - 7,163,274] of intact oligonucleotides. This is performed using a patented inkjet dispensing apparatus [United States Patent: Apparatus and method for introducing micro-volume liquid - 6,991,311] [United States Patent: Leakage detection apparatus and method for multi-channel inkjet cartridge - 7,182,423] . The oligonucleotides are deposited on a standard size 25mm X 75mm glass slide.
