Laksmi Pamuntjak

Laksmi Pamuntjak (born December 22, 1971) is an Indonesian poet and writer. She was born and bred in Jakarta, Indonesia.

She is widely recognised as one of the leading voices in contemporary food writing in Indonesia.In 2006, Pamuntjak released her treatise on violence and the "Iliad" entitled "Perang, Langit dan Dua Perempuan (War, Heaven, and Two Women)", along with her first collection of art-inspired short stories, "The Diary of R.S.: Musings on Art. "

In 2007, she published "The Anagram", her second poetry collection, along with "On God and Other Unfinished Things", her translation of "Tuhan dan Hal-Hal yang Tak Selesai", a book of aphorisms by the renowned Indonesian poet, journalist and intellectual Goenawan Mohamad.

Pamuntjak is presently working on her first novel, "The Blue Widow". It is set primarily in Buru Island, Maluku, Indonesia, the site of a penal colony during the repressive Suharto administration where approximately 12,000 alleged communists were detained without due process. She lives in Jakarta, Indonesia.
