Samuel D. Gruber is an American architectural historian and head of the International Survey of Jewish Monuments (ISJM) [ [http://www.isjm.org/] ] and the the Rothman family lecturer in Judaic studies at Syracuse University.

In 1990 Gruber chaired the first international conference convene by the World Monuments Fund to discuss the preservation of Jewish heritage sites. [ Ruth Ellen Gruber, "Virtually Jewish," University of California Press, 2002, pp. 98-9]
