[ [http://www.oxforddnb.com/index/101038994/ Frank Cooper] , Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, September 2004.] He ran a shop with his wife, Sarah Jane Cooper, at 83–84 High Street [ [http://www.headington.org.uk/oxon/high/tour/south/083.htm The High, Oxford: No 83] .] [ [http://www.headington.org.uk/oxon/high/tour/south/084.htm The High, Oxford: No 84] .] in Oxford, England. His wife made a batch of 76lbs of marmalade using a secret recipe in 1874 and this became the basis of "Oxford Marmalade" and the foundation of the Frank Cooper jam business. A factory was established in 1903 on Park End Street near the Oxford railway station. [ [http://www.thejamfactoryoxford.com/building.html The Jam Factory Building, Oxford] .]
Frank Cooper's name continues to the present day as a brand of marmalades and jams, now owned by Premier Foods.
