- Prashant V. Kamat
Prashant V. Kamat is a Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry and a Principal Scientist of Radiation Laboratory,
University of Notre Dame . He is also affiliated with in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering as a Concurrent Professor . He earned the masters (1974) and doctoral degree (1979) in Physical Chemistry from theBombay University , and carried out his postdoctoral research atBoston University (1979-1981) andUniversity of Texas at [Austin (1981-1983).Kamat has made significant research contributions in the area of utilizing nanomaterials for light energy conversion. He has published more than 350 peer-reviewed journal papers, review articles and book chapters. He has edited two books in the area of nanoscale materials. He was a fellow of Japan Society for Promotion of Science during 1997 and 2003 and was presented 2006 Honda-Fujishima Lectureship award by the Japan Photochemical Society. In 2008 he became a Fellow of the Electrochemical Society.
