Young Dutch Sam (January 30, 1808 in London, England – November 4, 1843) was a professional boxing pioneer. Pro career

Young Dutch Sam is best known as a being a former Welterweight Champion of the World in the 1820's. Sam won his first fight at age 15 and went on to defeat Ned Stockham, Harry Jones, Tom Cooper, Jack Cooper, Dick Davis and Ned Neale among others before retiring from the ring without ever losing a fight.

Honors

Young Dutch Sam was elected into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, "Pioneer" Category.

Young Dutch Sam's father, Dutch Sam, was also a boxing pioneer.
