Knollbury, Oxfordshire

Knollbury is a neolithic enclosure to the north west of Chadlington in Oxfordshire. Believed to be defensive in nature [English Heritage's Record of Scheduled Monuments, Oxfordshire 30] the enclosure is rectangular (100 metres by 150 metres) formed by 2-4 metre high and ten metre wide earth banks. The gaps in the earth banks at the two eastern corners are believed to be of a later date [English Heritage's Record of Scheduled Monuments, Oxfordshire 30] .
