History / Milestones
In July 2003, the Building and Development Division of Singapore’s [http://www.hdb.gov.sg Housing and Development Board (HDB)] was corporatised to become HDBCorp. HDBCorp was subsequently re-branded as [http://www.surbana.com Surbana Corporation Pte Ltd] in July 2005.
In October 2003, [http://www.surbana.com Surbana] , through a joint-venture vehicle, acquired a 64.6-hectare site in Chengdu, China marking her first township development project, The Botanica. Since then, [http://www.surbana.com Surbana] has acquired land in Wuxi, Xian and Shenyang for three other township development projects. To-date, 31 million square feet of land has been amassed.
In December 2004, [http://www.surbana.com Surbana] was acquired by [http://www.temasekholdings.com.sg Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd] , a Singapore government-owned investment firm.
[http://www.surbana.com Surbana] has offices in 15 cities, viz. Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Shanghai, Wuxi, Wuhan, Chengdu, Xian, Tianjin, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ho Chi Minh City.

And most recently in February 2008, Surbana was recognised as Singapore’s Top 10 Architectural Firm for the fourth consecutive year.
