Shevon Joseph better known by his stage name Shaka Dee, is a Trinidatian reggae and dancehall artist. He rose to fame with the release of his new single My Number One Lady featuring Kat Deluna. He is currently signed to Moonlight Entertainment Record"'.

Early life

Reggae master Shaka Dee hails from the beautiful and eclectic Caribbean country of Trinidad Tobago. Though a talented soccer player with a promising future, Shaka could not set aside his natural attraction to music. Making his way through the tough streets of NYC, he began blowing minds performing at Block Parties and Open Mic Nights. By the age of 18, Shaka realized the extent of his gift as a Reggae Artist and took it to the next level when he met with top notch executive Mike Jean who signed him to his label Moonlight Entertainment Record/UMG.

Music career

In 2002, his music career started when he opened for Petey Pablo in North Carolina. Then in 2005, Shaka Dee, Kat DeLuna and Jae Millz collaborated on the single "Dale Duro". It was ranked number one throughout Europe and Japan. With the success of the single, Shaka became the opening act at shows in the United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands and Italy. He began a series of collaborations, most recently with Kat DeLuna: "Run the Show" and "To Be Remembered", which debuted on August 8th, 2007.These two songs have been the most downloaded ringtones from Hightones. Billboard.com foresees the single "Run the Show" to be one of the biggest hits for 2007and 2008. Let's not forget the remix of the song "Whine Up" with Kat De Luna which has been playing on the radio for the New York Mets. They are a testament to Shaka's incredible talent; however the best is yet to come. His newly released hit single "My Number One Lady" featuring Kat De Luna, which has been released less than two months ago, has already climbed the charts in Japan and the Caribbean where it claimed the number one spot. It is at the same time in heavy rotation in Europe.Shaka Dee recently dropped his 1 hit single "MY NUMBER ONE LADY" from his upcoming album "SURVIVOR" with a collabo with Kat De Luna from Epic Records. It quickly topped at 1 in Japan and the Caribbean for the last 1½ month, and is now in heavy rotation in Europe. Shaka is highly requested in Europe and Japan where he's already been booked for several road shows, Radio and TV advertisements, and concerts. Charitable causes

A few weeks ago, on July 17, 08 Shaka", Mel-Soul-Tree, and Michael Fredo came together to participate in a fund raising project for the U.N. for clean water in Haiti. He performed live in the presence of U.N. personnel, and the Haitian's Consul General, Felix Augustin and Produced by Mike Jean , in NYC. His next f und raising project will be held in Rockland County, N.Y., for children across the U.S. In other words, Shaka Dee"' is not just a musical voice; he is one with a loving heart.
