In early part of the first quarter of the Twentieth century, Bhootnath Ta, the erstwhile
Zamindar of Palitpur had donated a piece of land in Palitpur for the construction ofAshram byTibbetibaba , a great saint of India. [Chakravorty 1997, p.477] Bhootnath Ta was an eminent disciple ofTibbetibaba . [ Ghosh 1992, p. 343] Dharmadas Mondal, another notable disciple ofTibbetibaba , was a also a resident of this village.
