The Grizzly Giant is a
giant sequoia inMariposa Grove , situated inYosemite National Park . The tree has been measured many times, most recently in 1990 byWendell Flint the tree has a volume of convert|34005|cuft|m3, making it the 25th largest giant sequoia living today.Mariposa Grove is the largest grove of Giant Sequoias in
Yosemite National Park , with several hundred mature examples of the tree. Two of its trees are among the Twenty Five largest Giant Sequoias in the world, the other tree is the Washington tree, which is actually larger than the Grizzly Giant, but that is not known to many people. The Mariposa Grove was first visited by non-natives in 1857 when Galen Clark and Milton Mann found it. They named the grove after Mariposa County, California, where the grove resides. Nearby tree's include the Califonia tree, which has a hole cut through it so you can walk inside a living giant sequoia.The Mariposa Grove Museum is listed on the
