Games

The games produced by Nitrome Ltd. are significant for being almost entirely made in pixel art and is also the main form of design in the company, as for also being adapted to the website design, almost not using anti-alpha at all.

The developer has also supported MTV Arcade [ [http://www.mtv.com/games/arcade/ MTV Arcade] ] , Wrigley's Candystand and significantly Miniclip, which is also the company's main assistant in advertising. The company has also made advergames, which, unlike the previously mentioned, are made to advertise a product or service. The company also allows for websites to place the company's games on their websites, for an undetermined fee [ [http://www.nitrome.com/services/ Services] ] .

Most of the games are divided into levels (usually between 20 and 50), and also give the player a choice of which level to continue on, after losing. Some games also feature the concept of bosses (such as Pest Control)

Nitrome also includes "Start-Ups" to all it's games. Once the game has finished loading, a "Nitrome" screen will appear (as well as it's companion "jingle") which will be in context to the game (e.g. in Off the Rails, you see the Nitrome logo on a train cart pulling up at a station, with the jingle ensuing)

List of games

There are currently 36 main games, with 5 "Mini" Games. Here are the games listed from the latest game.

*In the Dog House - In this mouse based game the character must guide a dog to the other side of the house by moving the pieces of the house and the dog's bone.

*Mallet Mania - In this mouse-based game, you control a red ball. Using your mallet, you hit the ball to make it move in a certain direction. You can vary your power and direction. There are certain elements such as pink gum tiles, which slow your ball down, or oil slicks, which have low friction, so keep your ball rolling for much longer. You can hit it into gamble tiles, which allow you to choose a different type of ball, like wonky (ball behaves differently), ghost (ball travels through certain obstacles), and bomb (ball makes an explosion when it stops moving). The game has a Multiplayer mode, the fifth game to have this feature. There are 18 courses in all, so a brief game. The visuals are highly saturated, not unlike those of 'Headcase'.

*Onekey - In this game, you guide your character avatar towards the end by only controlling the environment that surrounds him with the Space Key (hence the name "Onekey"). Pressing the space button may activate helpful items, such as floor springs and fans, but may also trigger traps such as arrows shooting from walls and falling spikes, so you must use it carefully.

*Final Ninja - In Final Ninja, you portray a ninja who has to work through various levels and enemies to defeat his old master. The gameplay is based on that of Dirk Valentine and Dangle.

*Mutiny - A game based on the famous Worms video game series, where you control teams of pirates. The aim of the game is to defeat the enemy team, which can be controlled via CPU or another player, with various inventive weapons based on the more famous Worms weapons.

*Small Fry - A tactical game where you have to transport four different characters to the end of the level, avoiding various obstacles. Each character has its own physical or personal attribute which can be used to help the others to reach the end of the level.

*Skywire 2 - The sequel to the popular game Skywire.

*Knuckleheads - In Knuckleheads, you control a large chain with a ball on each end. One is purple, one is green. Using the cursor keys, you swing the balls over the head of the ball in front to get to the end of the level. You also have to destroy enemies on the way to reach the end of the level - however, only the same colours will match - for example, only your green ball will kill a green bat, for if a purple tries, you lose a life.

*Cheese Dreams - You are the moon, which has been captured by giant mice who's spaceship runs on cheese. You have to bounce your way to the end of each level.

*Magneboy - Your avatar is magnetic - in the game, you must enhance these powers to move magnetic blocks around to make a path to the end of the level.

*Dirk Valentine and the Fortress of Steam - A platform game set in a steampunk world. You play as a British army commando armed with a gun that shoots chains.

*Aquanaut - A game in which you pilot a submersible through an undersea world.

*Jack Frost - A platform game in which you play as Jack Frost attempting to freeze the entire level.

*Snow Drift -A platform game in which you play as a yeti and slide down hills whilst fighting evil penguins.

*Thin Ice - A game in which you attempt to drown monsters by cutting holes around them with your ice skates. It should be noted that much of the graphics were reused from "Frost Bite."

*Twang - A game in which you move a ball through a world of slingshot-rubberbands.

*Pest Control - A game in which you swat insects and arachnids with a fly swatter.

*Headcase - A platformer in which you play as a large-headed superhero who can walk on walls, floors, and ceilings.

*Square Meal - A game where you guide a troll through a dungeon and eat things.
