The Echo (Irish Newspaper)

"The Echo" is a regional newspaper for parts of Dublin, Ireland. Founded over 24 years ago by David Kennedy in the front room of his house, and originally called The Tallaght Echo, the paper has grown to cover the adjacent suburbs of Clondalkin, Ballyfermot and Lucan.

"The Echo" was recently sold in June 2005, in a deal reported to be over €5 million to the Leinster Leader, a Kildare based newspaper group which now owns six regional titles. On the day the Leinster Leader announced that they were buying the Echo, they themselves announced that they were up for sale.In September 2005, the Leinster Leader was sold to Johnston Press, and is owned by a holding company called Tallaght Publishing Ltd. After selling the Echo, David Kennedy went on to set up Tallhouse a PR and Event Management Company with his wife, Liz Keeley and their three children.
