The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation is a non-profit foundation based in Kansas City, Missouri. It has an asset base of $2 billion. The Kauffman Foundation states that its vision is to foster "a society of economically independent individuals who are engaged citizens, contributing to the improvement of their communities." It focuses on two areas: advancing entrepreneurship and improving the education of children and youth.
The Kauffman Fellows Program
Founded in 1994, the Kauffman Fellows Program serves as an apprenticeship program for future leaders in the venture capital industry. While working full time at a venture capital firm, a Kauffman Fellow experiences a 2-year apprenticeship program that features a case-based, structured educational curriculum with an individual development plan, executive coaching, facilitated mentoring by a senior partner, and peer learning and networking.
The Global Scholars Program
The Kauffman Global Scholars Program brings top young entrepreneurs from around the world to the United States to learn from America’s entrepreneurial culture. This is a joint program between the NCGE (National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship) in the United Kingdom and the Kauffman Foundation.
