Camerata Asolo

[http://www.camerataasolo.org Camerata Asolo] is the primary project of The Norbert Brainin Foundation, a UK registered charity.

The overall aim of “Camerata Asolo” is to establish a creative environment where today’s great concert artists can work, independently or in collaboration, to document, apply and develop essential performance practices and traditions currently at serious risk of disappearing and pass them on to young performers of exceptional talent. A 3D audio visual documentation, captured using specially developed technology, together with a new knowledge management system, will form the first digital archive and knowledge tool of its kind to be disseminated via the internet to benefit music students, professional musicians, musicologists and music lovers worldwide The project has four main activities: "i a Forum for major international concert artists"
"ii an Academy for specially selected young concert artists"
"iii an Annual Music Festival"
all based in Asolo, a Renaissance town near Venice and in the province of Treviso, and
"iv a digital archive (“Archive”) made up of carefully indexed audio visual material drawn from all the above activities to be made available in the form of a Performing Arts Knowledge Tool for worldwide dissemination."

In addition to charitable donations, CA will raise revenue by making the Archive accessible on a subscription basis to musicians and music lovers all over the world. To implement this plan, a third organisation, Camerata Knowledge Resources Limited (“CKR”), has been formed in the United Kingdom.
