Cypriot Cup 2008-09

The Cypriot Cup 2008-09 started on September 23 2008. The format for the competion has been changed for this season.There will not be a group stage and only teams from the first and second divisions will participate (28 teams total). Teams from the lower divisions (third and fourth) will compete on a separate cup competition. The Cypriot cup will be completed in 5 rounds. Teams that qualified for last season's semifinals will enter the cup in the second round. All rounds are two-legged except the semifinals and final.

First Round

The draw for the first round took place on September 10 2008 at the Hilton Park hotel in Nicosia.

The teams that qualified for last year's semifinals will enter at this round, along with the 12 winners of the previous round.The following teams will compete for the second round:

* Omonia
* Apollon
* AEL
* Doxa Katokopia
* AE Paphos
* APOP Kinyras Peyia
* Ethnikos Achna
* Atromitos Yeroskipou
* Ethnikos Assia
* ENTHOI Lakatamia
* AEK Larnaca
* Digenis Morphou
* Enosis Neon Paralimni
* Ermis Aradippou

Quarterfinals

The 8 winners of the previous round will advance to the quarterfinals.

emifinals

The semifinals will be played on April 15 and May 6, 2009.

Final

The final will be played on May 16 2009.
