The use of the word "Pinoy" to was follows an ABS-CBN tradition of localizing a known international show. It uses the tagline "Ang buhay sa likod ng katapangan" or 'Life behind bravery.'

Format

The Philippine version of the show uses the "Fear Factor Extreme" format instead of the original American format of a three-stunt, one winner per episode format. The "Fear Factor Extreme" format is one of a multiple set of stunts and a set number of contestants over a period of weeks.
