Sergio Busquets (born July 16, 1988 in Sabadell, Barcelona) is a Spanish football player currently playing for Spanish football club FC Barcelona.

Sergio Busquets is the son of the Spanish former player Carles Busquets who played professionally during the 1990s. In 2003/04 Busquets joined FC Barcelona's Juvenil A team. In 2006/07 season, while still playing in Juvenil A, he played in 26 games and scored 7 goals. In 2007/08 Busquets played in FC Barcelona B team, under Josep Guardiola as a coach. He helped his team qualify to Segunda División B league, with 23 appearances and 2 goals. Busquets made his senior team debut during Copa Catalunya 2007/08. In the next season, Busquets played in FC Barcelona Atlètic for 2 games. After, he started playing regularly for the first team. His debut was against Racing de Santander in September 13. Busquets played in 4 out of the team's 5 first games, and was preferred over Touré Yaya.

On October 11 2008, Busquets started for Spain's Under 21s in their qualifying match for their Under 21 World Cup Qualification play off against Switzerland. Busquets scored in the 17th minute but Spain lost the match 2-1.
