Elissa P. Benedek M.D., is clinical professor of
psychiatry at theUniversity of Michigan Medical Center. She is past president of theAmerican Psychiatric Association (1990–91). She served as director of research and training at the Center forForensic Psychiatry inAnn Arbor, Michigan , for 25 years. In 1998, she testified for the U.S. Government in a lawsuit againstPlayboy Television aboutsignal bleed of adult material oncable television .Benedek was the primary psychiatry witness for Dr. Eric Fortich during one of the
