Innocent Vinnitzki

Innocent Vinnitzki was the first Orthodox bishop who united the diocese of Przemsly to Catholic Church. When still an Orthodox bishop Vinnitzki has desired to solve the schism against Catholic Church and in 1691 this bishop renounced the schism effectively uniting his diocese to Rome. Bishop Vinnitzki was an Orthodox bishop since 1680 up to 1691 and a Catholic bishop from 1691 to 1700. Vinnitzki's innitiative was important for improving the growing of Ruthenian Catholic Church since the Union of Brest. Nowadays, the diocese of Przemsly is an Polish diocese of Byzantine rite vinculated to Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
