Robert Muir (born 10 November 1919 in Edinburgh, Scotland) was a Progressive Conservative party member of the Canadian House of Commons, then joined the Senate of Canada. He was a businessman, miner, salesman by career.

He was first elected at the Cape Breton North and Victoria riding inthe 1957 general election, then re-elected to Parliament for successive terms until 1979. His riding became known as Cape Breton—The Sydneys as of the 1968 federal election.

After finishing his term in the 30th Canadian Parliament in 1979, Muir was appointed a Senator for the Cape Breton-The Sydneys, Nova Scotia division and remained in that post until 10 November 1994.
