The Motor Cycle was one of the first UK motorcycle magazines. Launched in 1903, its blue cover led to it being called "The Blue 'un" to help distinguish it from its rival publication "Motor Cycling" but the cover eventaully became multi-coloured.[cite web|url=http://www.the-motor-cycle.co.uk/|title=The Motor Cycle|accessdate=2008-08-02] Selling for eightpence in the 1950's, many issues had the strapline "Circluated throughout the World".]Features
Noted for detailed road tests of classic motorcycles and articles on readers bikes, the magazine had regular features, including "Current Chat" and "Letters to the Editor" where many of the key issues of the golden age of British motorcycling were debated.
