Edgar, Dunn & Company (EDC) is an independent global financial services and payments consultancy that provides a full range of strategy consulting services, expertise and market insight. Clients include national and international regulators, payment schemes, banks, airlines, telecommunications firms, online commerce and consumer retail firms.

History

*1978 - Jim Edgar, Peter Dunn, and Todd Conover left Touche Ross & Company and along with a few other individuals, founded Edgar, Dunn & Conover in San Francisco California
*The firm began as a general management consulting firm, but through early work done with an international card association] and with several West Coast banks, the firm quickly developed a specialization in payments and financial services
*After Todd Conover left the firm to become head of the US national banking system as Comptroller of the Currency, the firm was re-named Edgar, Dunn & Company
*1990 EDC was sold to ICF in 1990
*1992 EDC was purchased back by the original partners and re-formed, opening the Atlanta office
*1992 London office opened
*1996 Sydney office opened
*2000 The firm was acquired by AppNet to achieve scale, and very shortly thereafter, AppNet was acquired by Commerce One. After 14 months, the firm implemented a management buyout to re-emerge as Edgar, Dunn & Company with a focus on financial services and payments
*2003 The firm acquired Co-Brand Dynamics, now PaymentDynamics, to provide insights into customer attitudes and behaviour related to their payment decisions; this also established a New York office
*2004 The firm’s Frankfurt office opened
*2008 the firm opened offices in Singapore and Paris
