Kurkunta

Kurkunta is a village in Gulbarga district's Sedam taluq.A government run cement factory is located here, Cement Corporation of India Limited.Kurkunta is also known for a school which was famous in the local area, Bhavan's Vidyalaya Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.Though the school is not functional any more, the alumni of the school maintain an active YahooGroup bvbkurkunta.

Kurkunta is a village in Gulbarga district's Sedam taluq. It is around 70 km from Gulbarga and around 14 km from Sedam town. This place is famous for a Central Govt run cement factory(Cement Corporation Of India,which is not Functional any more) and a English medium school (Bhavan's Vidyalaya Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan)run by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai. The school has served the people of kurkunta colony and its nearby villages. This school has given to the society many good pioneers in various fields (engineering, medicine, defence etc.), the school is not functional anymore. The only person incharge of the school is Mr.C.M. Asokan, Principal, BVB, Kurkunta.
