Scottish Recovery Network

The Scottish Recovery Network [http://www.scottishrecovery.net] has been working since 2004 to raise awareness that people can and do recover from long-term and serious mental health problems and to build an understanding of what helps people recover. It also encourages and supports local and national action in relation to recovery.

Examples of the work of the Scottish Recovery Network include a Narrative Research Project [http://www.scottishrecovery.net/content/default.asp?page=s5_4] , publications, the promotion of self management approaches and work to support recovery oriented practice in mental health services. This includes the development of the Scottish Recovery Indicator practice development tool [http://www.scottishrecovery.net/content/default.asp?page=s16_4] , the introduction of peer support workers [http://www.scottishrecovery.net/content/default.asp?page=s16_2] and the national roll out of recovery learning materials [http://www.scottishrecovery.net/content/default.asp?page=s16_1] in conjunction with NHS Education for Scotland.

The Network is part of the Scottish Government's National Programme for Improving Mental Health and Wellbeing [http://www.wellscotland.info/index.html] , the fourth aim of which is to promote and support recovery.
