Don't Forget To Validate Your Parking

Don't Forget To Validate Your Parking is a webcomic written and illustrated by Mike Le, the American screenwriter, film producer, and comic book creator. The webcomic was officially launched on December 11, 2007, during the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike. Published roughly once a week, the webcomic is loosely based on the author's experiences working in Hollywood. Don't Forget To Validate Your Parking's initial popularity was limited to Hollywood insiders as it was passed around through internal work emails and private tracking boards. Its readership grew outside of industry circles when Cory Doctorow posted a link to the comic strip on Boing Boing.

The only visible character is an illustrated version of the author sitting behind his laptop and on the phone. All supporting characters are expressed through dialogue, usually as a voice on the phone. The tone of the webcomic is often ironic and cynical, a direct reflection of the characters themselves. It also takes comedic jabs at the entertainment industry and offers a satirical look at pop culture and social phenomenon.

On August 5, 2008, PC Magazine listed Don't Forget To Validate Your Parking as one of the Top 10 Best Unsung Webcomics.

Syndication

Don't Forget To Validate Your Parking was briefly published in Written By Magazine, the official publication of the Writers Guild of America, West. Its run was ended due to the strip's controversial take on the entertainment business. The webcomic was also published regularly in the humor section of The Behrend Beacon, the official student publication of the Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.
