William Neville Welch

(William) Neville Welch [ [http://www.npg.org.uk/live/search/portrait.asp?LinkID=mp81591&rNo=0&role=sit NPG details] ] was the inaugural Bishop of Bradwell from 1968 to 1973 ["Church news New Bishop of Bradwell (Official Appointments and Notices)"
The Times Wednesday, Feb 07, 1973; pg. 18; Issue 58701; col C] . Born on 30 April 1906 he was educated at Dean Close School, Cheltenham and Keble College, Oxford [Who's Who 1970 London, A & C Black, 1971 ISBN 0713611405 ] and studied for ordination at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford before a curacy in Kidderminster. From 1934 he was Secretary to the Mission to Seamen. Folowing this he was Vicar of Grays then Ilford; Rural Dean of Barking; and finally, before his elevation to the Episcopate, Archdeacon of Southend.
